Elshad Huseynli

Elshad Huseynli was born in 1991 and is originally from Azerbaijan. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Qafqaz University and completed his MBA in Risk and Engineering Management at Azerbaijan State University of Economics.
Since 2014, Elshad has worked professionally as a Planning Engineer. He has over 10 years of industry experience and more than 6 years as a trainer.
His career includes roles at Bos Shelf LLC, Tekfen Construction, British Petroleum, Tecnimont SpA, Bonatti SpA (Kazakhstan), and Subsea7 International. He is currently working as a Planning Engineer at Allseas Engineering BV in Delft, the Netherlands.

Mehdi Tahmasib
Cost Control & Project Management Trainer

Mehdi Tahmasib, born in 1995 in Azerbaijan, is Cost Engineer with over a decade of progressive experience in cost control, project management, and financial oversight within the oil and gas industry. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and a Master’s degree in Business Management from Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University. Currently, he is pursuing a Ph.D. in Business Management, further deepening his expertise in strategic and operational aspects of business performance.
Since beginning his professional journey in 2015, Mehdi has built a robust career working on both mega capital projects and operational portfolios, with budgets exceeding several billion USD. His career spans key roles at internationally recognized organizations, including:
Saipem S.p.A. (2015–2019): Gained foundational experience in cost engineering within large-scale EPC projects, developing strong analytical and reporting skills.
UBOC LLC (SOCAR) (2019–2022): Transitioned into a client-facing role, where he was responsible for cost control and forecasting in upstream operations, enhancing his understanding of client-side project governance.
BP, London, UK (2022–Present): Currently serving as a Cost Engineer, contributing to the financial management of complex energy projects in a global setting.
Throughout his career, Mehdi has demonstrated versatility by working both as a contractor and client-side cost engineer, giving him a comprehensive perspective on project lifecycles, stakeholder expectations, and cost optimization strategies. His expertise includes budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, cost risk assessment, and the implementation of cost control systems aligned with international standards.
Now based in London, Mehdi lives with his wife and son.
